How Does THRIWA Turn Artwork into Finished Card Decks?

A custom card project moves through connected production stages. The exact route depends on the selected material, finish, deck configuration and packaging.

1. Specification and Prepress

The project begins with card dimensions, card count, stock, artwork, finish, packaging, order quantity and destination. Artwork is reviewed for production requirements before proofing and approval. See the custom card OEM/ODM process for the current project workflow.

2. Printing and Surface Treatment

Approved artwork moves to printing. Depending on the specification, the printed sheets may then receive lamination, varnish, embossing or another approved surface treatment.

3. Cutting, Collation and Finishing

Printed sheets are cut to the required card format. Sorting and collation organize the cards into the intended sequence, while final slitting or die-cutting helps control dimensions, corners and edge quality.

4. Inspection and Packaging

Inspection checks are performed during production and before shipment. Finished decks are assembled in the specified packaging and may be shrink wrapped for added protection.

How Is Playing Card Quality Controlled?

Quality control is most useful when it follows the product through production rather than relying on one final check. THRIWA’s OEM/ODM workflow refers to incoming material inspection, in-process checks and final outgoing inspection. The factory-capabilities page also shows automated inspection equipment for visible print defects, color variation and misregistration.

Project-specific acceptance criteria should be agreed before production. These may cover approved artwork and proof, card dimensions, card sequence, edge condition, surface finish, packaging configuration and shipment quantity. Ask the project team to confirm the inspection plan and any measurable tolerances in the quotation or specification sheet.

What Card and Deck Categories Can THRIWA Produce?

THRIWA's OEM/ODM product range includes:

Materials, finishes and packaging are matched to the product and intended use. Confirm the required card feel, durability, color target, collation method and retail packaging before proofing.

OEM/ODM and Small-Batch Customization

THRIWA publishes support for OEM/ODM card projects and small-batch customization. A practical specification should identify the card count, finished size, stock, artwork status, surface treatment, edge treatment, packaging, quantity and delivery destination. The project team can then evaluate manufacturing fit, proofing options, minimum order quantity, production schedule and shipping terms.

For projects that are still being developed, use the proofing stage to confirm layout, color expectations, dimensions and packaging structure before authorizing bulk production. Minimum order quantities and lead times vary by specification and should be confirmed in writing for each project.
